Department Establishment
The Department of Oil and Gas Engineering was established in 2013 within the College of Oil and Gas Engineering at Basra University to obtain a bachelor's degree in Oil and Gas Engineering.
The specialization in Oil and Gas Engineering is one of the most important and famous engineering disciplines in the world, and especially in Iraq, due to Iraq's immense oil wealth and its economy's heavy reliance on oil installations, making its graduates highly sought after by major oil companies and countries. Oil and Gas Engineering primarily deals with the comprehensive engineering applications related to oil and gas, from extraction to refining, to manufacturing products derived from this raw material, and distributing them to consumers.
