Indicative Contents

المحتويات الإرشادية

1. The concept of Petrochemical: Petrochemicals (sometimes abbreviated as petchems) are the chemical products obtained from petroleum by refining[10hrs]

2. the world dependent on petrochemicals. From the cars we drive to the food on our

plates, the products and materials we derive from petrochemicals are fundamental to many[15hrs]

3. Plastics and fertilizers, the two largest groups of chemical sectors

products, are indispensable in our everyday lives[11hrs].

4. The manufacture of petrochemicals and their derivatives absorbs an increasing proportion of the world’s oil and gas – approximately 14% (13 million barrels per day [mb/d]) for oil and 8%(300 billion cubic metres [bcm]) for gas[15hrs].

5. The future of the petrochemicals industry is of major significance for both global energy security and the environment[15hrs]

6. The growing role of petrochemicals is one of the key “blind spots” in the global energy debate. The diversity and complexity of this sector means that petrochemicals receive less attention than

other sectors, despite their rising importance [15 hrs]

Learning and Teaching Strategies

استراتيجيات التعلم والتعليم

Strategies

The main strategy that will be adopted to development students’ skills in the Petrochemical production. The enhancement of petrochemical products sales calls for the adoption of some appropriate strategies as well as recognition and analysis of the special environmental factors such as the market, rivals, economic and financial businesses, syndicates etc. And the general environmental factors such as technology; social, political and economic conditions; analysis of the opportunities and threats; and the recognition of the role and importance of the important players of the regional and international markets.

Note: Marks Decimal places above or below 0.5 will be rounded to the higher or lower full mark (for example a mark of 54.5 will be rounded to 55, whereas a mark of 54.4 will be rounded to 54. The University has a policy NOT to condone "near-pass fails" so the only adjustment to marks awarded by the original marker(s) will be the automatic rounding outlined above.
