Speech by the Dean of the College of Oil and Gas Engineering

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the most honorable of creation, our master and Prophet Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family.
The good and pure and his noble and chosen companions...

The College of Oil and Gas Engineering at Basra University of Oil and Gas was established in 2013, in Basra Governorate, because of this governorate’s great importance for the oil and petroleum industries. This college began accepting only (70) male and female students, most of them from the southern governorates, as they were distributed into two departments (Engineering Department). Oil and Gas and the Department of Chemical Engineering) and the intention is to split this college into two colleges (the College of Extractive Petroleum with its two departments, the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering and the Department of Geology and Petroleum Exploration) and (the College of Transformative Petroleum with its two departments, the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Department of Petrochemical Engineering). Our college aims to prepare qualified engineers exclusively in the petroleum industries. (Extractive and Transformative) and their distinction compared to other corresponding colleges inside and outside Iraq. This college has taken care of itself after relying on God Almighty and seeking the help of sincere cadres to serve the nation and society and build the edifice of our beloved Iraq. The College of Oil and Gas Engineering in Basra Governorate seeks to be one of the colleges Distinguished in the field of the oil industry exclusively at the local, regional and global levels, and for our contributions in the field of research, development and community service to be what is referred to as Lebanon to raise the status of our dear country and our beloved governorate. In conclusion, I pray to God Almighty to grant us success in serving and developing the college and to crown the efforts of its staff with success. He is the Granter of success.
